Brad Shorkend
Innovation, Culture & Leadership Specialist
Brad is a behavioural specialist and performance coach, obsessed with helping businesses, leaders, and everyone who wakes up in the morning to go to work to be better at the complicated job of being human.
He has worked with thousands of people globally on how to be a ‘better human’ at work, and in turn how to build and lead organisations that are awesome places for people to thrive at and deliver massive success in a world that has gone digital crazy.
Brad designs his talks and interactive facilitation sessions to be more than just a ‘what’ event, but also to give his audiences the ‘how’! Leadership, Organisational Culture, Innovation, Strategy, Employee Experience… are all FOR humans, WITH humans, BY humans! We all need to HUMAN better!
He is a relentless entrepreneur having founded and successfully (mostly) led over 20 businesses across numerous industry sectors… architecture, telecommunications, fashion, start-up acceleration, music retail, beauty, technology, consulting, FMCG, to name just a few… he is thus able to deeply connect with the unique context of each of his client’s businesses, and weave his humaning message in for maximum sustainability and long term impact.
Brad’s professional career kicked off with him founding and building his own architectural practice and specializing in architecture for business for 15 years. It was during this time that he discovered his love for entrepreneurship, leadership, people development and the “thinking” space, hence he transitioned into high impact thought leadership and now works primarily with CEO, MD, Exco, founders and leadership at all levels of organization, high potential individuals, teams and entrepreneurs.
His clients are a dynamic array of many of the leading blue chip organisations globally, in addition to exciting early-stage start-ups and high impact scale-ups. Brad has coached, spoken for, facilitated and/or consulted to leaders and organizations across Europe, the United States of America, Asia, the Emirates, Australia and Africa. Brad is the co-author of the 2018 publication “WE ARE STILL HUMAN (and work shouldn’t suck!)” and contributing author to the 2020 publication “THE BOOK EVERY BUSINESS OWNER MUST READ”. He is also a frequent contributor to numerous print and online publications and radio shows.
Brad is adjunct faculty at GIBS and Duke CE business schools.
In his free time Brad loves to travel and climb big mountains… he has summited three of the seven summits (the tallest mountain on each continent) and has also expeditioned to Everest Base Camp in Nepal.
